“WHY WE STARTED LEVEL UP HOOPERS”

Level Up Hoopers, established in Iowa City by Van Hardy and Kevin Koffner in 2025, is a testament to their lifelong passion for basketball. Both founders were avid players who aspired to compete at the collegiate level but faced setbacks due to injuries. Despite this, their enthusiasm for the sport remained strong, driving them to focus on mentoring the next generation of players through exceptional training. With years of experience coaching at various educational levels, they have become influential mentors and coaches for numerous young athletes in the Iowa City community.

In response to the rising costs of camp and the lack of affordable, high-quality options, Van and Kevin have chosen to establish community-oriented camps and clinics. These programs will combine advanced instruction with performance training, all at affordable prices. Their aim is to create a reputable program led by middle and high school coaches who are also area educators, capable of understanding players’ needs and nurturing their development to help them excel at the next level.

We strive to create a positive and competitive environment where players can grow their skills, build character, and reach their full potential, all while embracing the values of hard work, respect, and integrity.
